About The Position

TYLin's Construction Management team is looking for a Senior Resident Engineer (Structures) to be a part of our exciting journey in shaping the future of transportation infrastructure. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction manager or closely-related field.
  • P.E. license or CCM credential required.
  • At least 15+ years of experience with the concepts and practices with complex bridge construction.
  • Previous experience as a Structures Representative on at least two bridge projects with a minimum construction value of $20 million.
  • Strong ability to write effective and concise reviews comments, and reports.
  • Must be able to communicate and liaise well with Contractors and other team members to effectively resolve field issues.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
  • Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's preferred.
  • Previous construction management experience for Caltrans projects, or projects that had Caltrans oversight, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of all falsework elements.
  • Ensure that project specifications are faithfully executed, and plans are brought to life with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for various project activities, contributing to cost-effective solutions.
  • Provide written progress reports, technical insights, and address special issues promptly.
  • Work with contractors to coordinate tasks and ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Manage project documentation, ensuring that contract compliance is maintained at all times.
  • Review contractor pay estimates and submittals with a keen eye for accuracy.
  • Be a mentor and trainer, shaping the next generation of construction professionals.
  • Lead field inspection and support staff, sharing expertise and fostering growth.
  • Uphold and enforce construction safety rules and regulations for a secure work environment.
