GFT is seeking a Resident Engineer - Roadway & Bridges to join our Construction Services Team in Chicago, IL. This role requires regular attendance at our Chicago, IL office. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • 7+ years’ experience.
  • IDOT Documentation Certification, required.
  • 10-hour OSHA Safety course.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a driver’s license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Primavera P6 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.
  • Prepares and monitors project schedules.
  • Performs periodic construction observation and inspection.
  • Possesses basic surveying interpretation skills.
  • Prepares reports and correspondence.
  • Prepares and checks quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
  • Prepares construction payment applications.
  • Negotiates and prepares construction change orders.
  • Reviews submittits and other technical data.
  • Proficient with construction management software for document management and scheduling.
  • Performs constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
  • Assists with Risk Management assessments.
  • Prepares and monitors Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
