Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
  • Ten (10) years of construction or related engineering experience, with at least two (2) of the ten (10) years in the transit industry
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365®
  • Must have previous field experience
  • OSHA 10-hour Construction certification
  • Written and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • PE license, Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or Certified Professional Contractor (CPC) are desirable but not required
  • Familiarity with rail/transit design criteria and standards
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Procore

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the overall Project Manager by executing project management responsibilities for the respective discipline, including developing hours estimates and scope.
  • Overseeing sub-tasks within their respective discipline for a project.
  • Maintaining full familiarity with plans, specifications, construction schedules, contractor's plans, the Project Management Plan, and current safety regulations for assigned contracts.
  • Providing general engineering/project management support to the client’s project implementation team.
  • Offering technical expertise related to engineering and constructability, statements of work, cost estimates, proposal reviews, project schedules, change requests, and other items during pre-construction, procurement, construction, and testing and commissioning.
  • Coordinating engineering and implementation in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Documenting and overseeing processes and projects, ensuring conformance with the client’s approved procedures and all internal and external project requirements.
  • Evaluating design and construction for potential risks, developing alternative courses of action, and making recommendations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of final decision documentation for the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR).
  • Reviewing contractor payment requests and internal project costs and making recommendations.
  • Reporting on project status and communicating with the client’s internal stakeholders.
  • Performing other related tasks assigned by leadership.
