Resident Engagement Director
About The Position
This role focuses on enhancing the lives of residents through a person-centered approach, building relationships, and creating engaging monthly calendars based on residents' shared interests. The Resident Engagement Director collaborates with the community leadership team to plan and execute special events, including holidays, family gatherings, and educational or marketing events. Additionally, the role involves planning and scheduling meaningful engagement opportunities outside the community, which may include driving a community vehicle. This job description provides an overview of responsibilities and is not exhaustive; associates are expected to perform all assigned duties by their supervisor.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of direct experience with adults, coordinating, planning, and executing programs is required.
- Leadership experience is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Uses strong analytic skills and an in-depth understanding of resident programming and engagement to make varied decisions within the department.
- Demonstrates leadership ability to be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of resident engagement and programming.
- Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on precedent, example, reasonableness or a combination of these.

Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, health care, education, or other related field preferred.
- May be required to obtain a commercial driver’s license based on the needs of the community.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes a person-centered approach starting with positive perceptions of aging, while building relationships and connections amongst residents.
- Develops a monthly calendar, in partnership with residents, based on residents’ shared interests.
- Collaborates with community leadership team to plan, coordinate, and execute special events at the community including, but not limited to, holiday, family, educational, and other marketing events.
- Plans and schedules meaningful opportunities for resident engagement outside the community, which may include driving a community vehicle.
