About The Position
Oversees and manages the University’s residential facilities, residence life educational programs, residentially-based academic communities, residence life student and professional staff, and all promotional communications for the department. Ensures the safety and security of residents and development of the departmental comprehensive emergency management plan. Facilitates operational decisions within broadly defined parameters that require a high level of judgement. Establishes the direction, goals, implementation strategy, and policies of the department. Performs budgetary functions.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in residence life/housing administration
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and development
- Proven experience in budget management and financial oversight
- Experience in developing and implementing educational programs and academic communities
- Knowledge of student development theory and best practices in residence life
- Strong understanding of safety and security protocols, including emergency management planning
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make complex decisions
Nice To Haves
- Doctoral degree in a related field
- Experience with residential academic initiatives
- Familiarity with university housing software and systems
- Experience in crisis management and response
