Saint Anselm College, a private, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, is seeking a Resident Director. Reporting to an Area Coordinator and/or the Director of Residential Life and Education, the Resident Director is a live-in, 10-month professional staff position, with duties coordinated by the Director of Residential Life and Education. This person will be responsible for the overall operation of a residence hall/area of up to 300 undergraduate residents including supervision of 8-10 undergraduate resident assistants, Resident Hall Council, and front desk staff. Subscribing to the professional standards and philosophy of the student affairs division and representing the Office of the Dean of Students and the Department of Residential Life and Education, this person will serve as a behavior model, offering supervision to resident assistants, and assistance and direction to students of the assigned hall(s). Typical duties include: opening/closing halls; hall program management; facilities management; disciplinary interventions; counseling and referrals; staff training, selection, and supervision; and interpretation and enforcement of college rules, policies and procedures in conjunction with the college’s judicial system. Serves in an on-call rotation of professional staff responding to emergency and crisis situations.
