About The Position

The Resident Coordinator is the first point of contact for residents and the operational support anchor for the on-site team. This role supports leasing, move-ins, recertifications, and resident communications while learning the full operations of an affordable housing community. This position is intentionally designed as a developmental role, with a typical path to Assistant Business Manager in 12 to 18 months based on performance and competency milestones. The Resident Coordinator is expected to be a friendly, detail-driven professional who juggles priorities with precision and is ready to grow into property management leadership. They should be a team-oriented problem solver who produces polished work, moves fast without losing accuracy, and genuinely enjoys helping people.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous property management experience helpful but not required
  • Prior exposure to affordable housing (LIHTC, Section 8, or similar) is a strong plus, and a foundation you'll build on quickly in this role
  • Bilingual (Spanish, Somali, or Hmong) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for residents with patience and professionalism; actively listen, problem-solve, and build a welcoming community culture.
  • Maintain precise resident files, records, and responsiveness in Yardi CRM; track work orders, renewals, and notices; support leasing, move-in, and recertification processes with accuracy.
  • Walk the property exterior regularly, document and communicate issues, and ensure adherence to SAIL Standards.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, compliance, and leadership to resolve issues efficiently; take on progressive responsibilities toward promotion to Assistant Business Manager.
