About The Position

The Spiritual Care Services department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a 1st Year Resident Chaplain to provide supportive care and consultation as an integral part of the care team in assigned areas. This role involves developing pastoral care skills through participation in an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) accredited Residency program of Clinical Pastoral Education (C.P.E.). Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study
  • <2 years of experience
  • 1 Unit ACPE CPE or equivalent
  • No Supervisor Experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Theology/related
  • Special Ministry Endorsement
  • Ordination or eligible

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct spiritual care to patients and families.
  • Provides consultation to other members of the care team regarding spiritual issues and resources in patient and family care and regarding ethics.
  • Provides direct pastoral care to staff and physicians, as needed, complementing staff support services provided by others.
