About The Position

The Resident Care Tech of the assisted living facility works as a team member with other staff on the delivery of resident care in order to facilitate resident satisfaction, facility efficiency, and provider productivity. The Resident Care Tech assists with the day-to-day needs of the residents related to comfort, mobility, medication assistance, and ADLs. To promote safety, the Resident Care Tech assists residents with attendance at activities, appointments, and meals.

Requirements

  • Required American Heart Association BLS required within two (2) months of hire.
  • ServSafe certification required within two (2) months of hire.
  • Current Driver’s License and successful completion of driver’s record check if assigned to drive.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality.
  • Performs essential job functions successfully in a busy and stressful environment.
  • Learns current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman Health.

  • Regular and sustained attendance is required.

  • Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances.
  • Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
  • Emotionally challenging situations, such as dealing with distressed patients or difficult family interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Medication Aide I License, Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician certification.
  • One (1) year experience working in a customer service or hospitality role for high-end clientele.
  • One (1) year experience working as an aide or caregiver in an assisted living facility, long term care facility, skilled nursing facility, or hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating care for residents with the nursing staff.
  • Implement the plan of care for residents established under direction of nursing staff, reporting observations and comments to nursing.
  • Obtain and record vital signs.
  • Document I&Os as needed.
  • Assist with other resident care duties as requested by nursing, including two-hour checks.
  • Provide medication assistance to residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Demonstrate awareness of necessary safety precautions and promote safety when assisting residents with attendance at activities, appointments, and meals.
  • Assist with setting up dining area and serving meals to residents, families, and guests.
  • Driving the bus/van transporting Hillcrest/Aspen Pointe/Birchwood residents to/from appointments as needed and assigned.
