About The Position

The Avalon is recruiting Resident Care Associates, also known as Nursing Assistants or C.N.A.s. This role provides resident care activities and related nonprofessional services essential to residents’ personal needs and comfort. A high level of customer service and a passion for working with seniors are important. Experience is appreciated, but training may be provided to candidates with a genuine interest in senior care. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
High level of customer service.
Passion for working with seniors.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience working as a CNA, PCA, HHA, or RA.
One year of experience working in assisted living or memory care.

Responsibilities

Provide residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinence care, and foot care.
Take vital signs and check height and weight according to policy.
Make beds as needed in the morning, turn them down as needed in the evening, and change linens weekly or as needed.
Complete assigned resident personal laundry.
Assist residents at mealtimes, including cutting food and encouraging residents to eat.
Promote a calm atmosphere.
Complete and document assigned shift duties; report any duties that cannot be completed to the nursing supervisor.
Report unusual resident behavior or changes in status to the nurse on duty and Director of Health Services.
Provide activities as planned or directed.
Respond to call lights and emergencies in a timely manner.
Provide emergency care within the scope of practice.
