About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring Resident Care Associates (RCAs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for The Residence at Basking Ridge. This role involves providing for the needs of elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, while upholding their dignity, independence, choice, and individuality. The RCA will deliver services as outlined in each resident's approved service plan. The position promotes the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living, encourages community occupancy growth through positive interactions with potential residents and their families, and requires completion of orientation and training programs. Responsibilities include assisting residents with medications, engaging them in meaningful activities and daily living tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility), monitoring for changes in needs and health status, assisting with clothing and laundry, helping residents with bedtime routines, maintaining resident unit neatness, responding to emergency calls, participating in ongoing in-service training, escorting residents to meals and activities, documenting services provided (including incidents and refusals), and conducting/facilitating programming for cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection. Other duties as requested.

Requirements

Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
Current CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training preferred.
Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.
Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.
Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.

Nice To Haves

Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences.
Provide assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions for residents' activities of daily living.
Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status and report/document them promptly.
Assist residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
Assist residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
Assist residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
Answer emergency calls and attend to residents' needs promptly.
Participate in regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs and specialized staff training programs.
Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, and resident refusals.
Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and notifications.
