Resident Care Assistant (4p-8p)
About The Position
The Boston Home is a 96-bed long-term care community for adults with multiple sclerosis and other advanced neurological disorders. Its residents are generally younger and more stable than those in many care facilities, often joining in mid-life and living in the community for 20 or more years. The role offers the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with residents. This part-time position is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Resident Care Assistant supports residents around mealtimes and responds to resident call lights, assisting with requests or reporting needs to the nursing department. Training will be provided for feeding assistance.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with meal delivery, meal setup, and feeding as necessary.
- Report resident meal consumption as necessary.
- Assist residents with post-meal setup, including clearing meal trays and arranging needed items.
- Fill resident water bottles and cups.
- Perform simple water bottle cleaning protocols.
- Answer resident call lights, assist residents, and/or report needs to the nursing department as necessary.
