The Resident Care Assistant (PRN) performs all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as instructed by supervisors. This role supports the admission, transfer, and discharge process for residents and assists elders with daily living functions such as dental care, feeding, bathing, dressing/undressing, nail care, hair care, and shaving according to expressed preference. The assistant also helps with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents, performs restorative and rehabilitative procedures, provides daily Range of Motion Exercises, records data, and answers resident calls promptly. Safety precautions, including the use of personal protective equipment and safety equipment like gait belts and mechanical lifts, are to be followed.
