This Resident Care Assistant position involves performing all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as instructed by supervisors. Key responsibilities include supporting the admission, transfer, and discharge process for Residents, and assisting Elders with daily living functions such as dental care, feeding, bathing, dressing/undressing, nail care, hair care, and shaving according to their expressed preference. The role also requires assisting with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents, performing restorative and rehabilitative procedures, providing daily Range of Motion Exercises, recording data, and promptly answering Resident calls. Adherence to established safety precautions, including exposure to body fluids, lifting, transferring, and the use and disposal of personal protective equipment, is mandatory. The assistant must also wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., gait belt, mechanical lifts) when moving residents in accordance with their plan of care.
