Resident Care Assistant (RCA)
About The Position
Kāhala Nui, considered Hawaiʻi’s premier senior living community, is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Resident Care Assistant (RCA) to join our team. This position involves assisting residents with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to ensure they receive person-centered care and service. The RCA follows the direction of the licensed nurse, Director of AL/MS, ADON, and/or DON. They work with residents in Assisted Living (AL) and Memory Support (MS) as assigned and on a rotating basis. The role may involve working on the Nursing Unit if the individual is certified as a CNA. Please note that this position does not require a Hawaii CNA license and does not provide relocation assistance. Evening and Night shifts receive a shift differential pay.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with residents and families.
- Ability to follow care plans, policies and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely, including standing, bending and prolonged walking or standing.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proof of annual tuberculosis clearance in accordance with state regulations.
- Proof of valid CPR AED and First Aid certification.
Nice To Haves
- 100 hours of nurse's aide training or Certified Nurse's Assistant certificate preferred.
- Previous experience in caregiving, resident care, assisted living, healthcare, or a related field.
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or memory care residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with their ADLs to ensure that they are receiving person-centered care and service.

- Work with residents living in Assisted Living (AL) and Memory Support (MS) as assigned and on a rotating basis.
- May be assigned to work on the Nursing Unit if certified as a CNA.
