Resident Care Assistant, 2nd shift
About The Position
The Resident Care Assistant provides compassionate personal care and support for daily activities in assisted living and memory care, helping create a safe, warm, and nurturing environment where residents feel valued and at home. This is a full-time position in the Assisted Living Department at Porter Hills Village in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The schedule is 35 hours per week, on second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., varying Monday through Friday and including every other weekend. There is no scheduling mandate. A weekend shift premium of $0.50 applies from Friday at 11:00 p.m. through Sunday at 10:59 p.m. Compensation is $17.51–$19.64 per hour. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a caregiver role.
- Experience with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Previous working knowledge of an Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) system.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist residents with meals and hydration.
- Support resident mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
- Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake and output.
- Keep resident rooms tidy, comfortable, and stocked with essentials.
- Respond promptly and compassionately to call lights.
- Report changes in residents’ conditions to leadership as soon as possible.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate respect and professionalism while providing care.
