About The Position

This role is responsible for completing tasks on nursing units that maintain the resident's environment and contribute to the efficiency of resident care. The goal is to provide a safe, home-like environment that maximizes residents' independent functioning. This includes supporting care and services such as linen and laundry, housekeeping, and meal support. The position also involves assisting residents with recreational and social activities, providing mobility support, and performing administrative tasks like answering phones and greeting visitors.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age.
  • Required Certification: CBRF Completed Course OR willing to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves meals to residents, cleans dining room and kitchen, completes water pass, distributes linens, and sets tables.
  • Feeds residents as assigned.
  • Performs basic housekeeping duties in public areas and resident rooms, including bed making.
  • Serves as a resource for residents' questions and concerns, resolving issues or referring them to appropriate staff.
  • Cleans resident utensils (bedpans, urinals, basins) and unit equipment.
  • Assists in taking care of residents' rooms, including cleaning closets and drawers, storing food properly, and handling valuables carefully.
  • Cleans resident wheelchairs and walkers and reports needed repairs.
  • May wash and dry clothing and linens for residents, return laundry, and stock resident bathrooms.
  • May assist residents with weekly shower and bathing activities, including hair shampoo and nail care.
  • Transports residents to and from meals and appointments via wheelchair.
  • Understands and follows facility policies regarding skin care, bowel and bladder, behaviors, fall prevention, nutrition, restraint-free environment, pain control, prevention of ADL decline, and conducts resident activities.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
