About The Position

Mercy McMahon Terrace is seeking a compassionate Resident Care Aide to join their team. This role is vital to the resident care team, performing duties in accordance with the organization's mission and policies. The Resident Care Aide is accountable for day-to-day care duties, directly contributing to the well-being and comfort of residents. Flexibility and a team-oriented approach are key, as assistance may be needed in other resident care or departmental duties. The ideal candidate will have a compassionate demeanor, prior experience in direct resident care in a senior living or long-term care setting, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Basic Life Support - CPR

Responsibilities

Receives report from previous shift and organizes shift assignments.
Assists residents with toileting and dressing activities (skin care, bathroom help, weights, etc.), bed making and tidying of unit; eating, unit trays, nourishments.
Provides assistance to residents who regularly or intermittently need to use the toilet at night.
Cares for, cleans, replaces resident laundry and facility supplies, equipment, appliances, etc.
Monitors residents remaining in units for temporary illnesses such as a cold, flu, etc.
Ensures residents with temporary illnesses have trays delivered to them for each meal.
Observes and reports any changes noted with resident to Resident Services Manager and/or Director or LVN on duty.
Answers emergency call signals.
Charts in individual Resident Care Chart when appropriate.
Completes incident report when applicable.
Informs manager of any charges for any medical supplies given to residents.
Assists community agencies such as Hospice/Home Care in providing care to residents.
Assists relatives, visitors and guests and directs requests or concerns to appropriate person.
Maintains a positive working relationship with other departments.
Interacts in a supportive, collaborative manner with all MMT team members.
