About The Position

The Resident Care Aide Manager will provide overall supervision and training of the Resident Care Aides (RCA) to ensure DOH regulations are followed, and the company standard of resident care is provided. The work is performed within established guidelines and requires periodic supervision. The employee exercises some initiative and independent judgment to effectively perform the essential job duties of this position. The employee has no direct responsibility for others. Will be required to assist in training all new relief and per diem receptionists. Shall be fully acquainted with all safety policies and procedures of the Episcopal SeniorLife Communities. Takes an active role in all fire drills during the shift and/or emergencies for internal and external disasters as monitored by supervisor and incident manager. Must comply with facility in-service requirements. Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the organization, residents, participants, family and staff, that may be encountered, either formally or informally, during the normal course of business. This includes medical and treatment records, financial and human resources information.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a healthcare related field required.
  • Three years’ experience in long term care.
  • Team orientated approach to providing the highest level of care to residents and families.
  • Ability to interact courteously and tactfully with staff, residents, family members, vendors, visitors and the general public.
  • Display core values of ESLC.

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervisor the delivery of services provided by RCAs.
  • Evaluate the performance of all RCA team members.
  • In collaboration with LPN Managers, interview applicants and make hiring recommendations in accordance with ESLC policies.
  • Manage the progressive disciplinary process as needed, ensuring appropriate documentation in compliance with HR policies.
  • Collaborate with LPN Managers to supervise RCAs and ensure proper medication management in accordance with physician orders.
  • Provide RCA on-call coverage and report to Ashley Woods if staffing shortages cannot be filled.
  • Represent RCA needs and concerns during team huddles, IDT meetings, and other staff meetings.
  • Support RCA staff development through ongoing education, coaching, and performance feedback in conjunction with Director of Nursing Education and Quality.
  • Provide floor coverage as needed, including medication administration and resident care
  • Communicate resident status changes and functional needs to team members and document as appropriate.
  • Assign RCA duties, tasks, and daily staff assignments.
  • Actively participate in the Interdisciplinary Team.
  • Collaboration with team members at Ashley Woods and across ESLC.
  • Participate in facility safety and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain the ability to perform RCA job responsibilities as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
