About The Position

Gurney’s is a premier luxury destination offering unparalleled oceanfront experiences in Montauk, with a mission to create a unique, effortlessly elegant experience for guests. The Beach Attendant is responsible for creating a welcoming and personalized experience at the Residence Beach, primarily for residence owners and their guests, while also delivering an elevated level of service to resort guests at Gurney’s exclusive Residences. This role involves setting up and maintaining the beach area, assisting with seating and amenities, and ensuring a clean, safe, and inviting environment that reflects the standards of a private, luxury experience. The ideal candidate is attentive, energetic, and dedicated to providing exceptional guest service.

  • Prior hospitality, beach club, or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create a sense of familiarity with residence owners and their guests by learning their names and preferences to provide a more personalized experience.
  • Set up and break down beach chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, and lounge areas according to resort standards.
  • Greet residence owners, their guests, and resort guests warmly upon arrival at the Residence Beach.
  • Assist residence owners, their guests, and resort guests with setting up umbrellas, seating, towel service, and beach amenities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all Residence Beach areas throughout the day.
  • Ensures all cabana and lounge chair furniture for residence owners is organized and clean. Ensure all cabanas and day beds are ready for use at the beginning of the day shift and properly cleaned up at the end of the day.
  • Clean debris from tables, chairs, and all residence beach areas throughout the shift.
  • Set up receptacles for trash and dirty linens. Transport clean and soiled linens and trash as required.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed and report any safety hazards to management.
  • Provide information about resort amenities, dining options, and local attractions.
  • Anticipate residence owners and their guests’ needs and respond promptly to requests to enhance their experience.
  • Follow all resort policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation guidelines.
