About The Position

Devereux Connecticut is seeking an experienced and compassionate Residence Manager to lead and oversee their Adult Community Living Arrangement. This is a DDS-licensed home in the community that provides long-term support for adults, age 18 and older, with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program emphasizes person-centered planning, stability, and community integration, aiming to help individuals develop skills for fulfilling and socially-connected lives. Professional staff provide 24/7 support in areas such as personal care, meal preparation, household responsibilities, healthcare coordination, money management, and social competence. Community integration is also a key focus, including participation in recreational activities and volunteer opportunities. Families and guardians are actively involved, and services are coordinated with DDS and clinical providers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 1 year of progressive experience in a residential setting that programs for the special needs individuals.
  • Strongly prefer previous supervisory experience.
  • Have a strong passion for working with and helping adults with special needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; leadership, relationship management, and multi-tasking skills are required.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures proper staffing ratio throughout assigned residence.
  • Oversees compliance with CT DDS regulation of assigned residence.
  • Ensures staff assigned to the house receive necessary training.
  • Oversees both the daily operation and all procedural routines of assigned residence.
  • Ensures that Treatment Team and treatment planning meetings are prepared for and attended.
  • Monitors residence documentation requirements and trains and schedules program staff in documentation duties.
  • Maintains medication administration certification, as well as training mandates.
  • Ensures that recreational schedules are submitted to Community Rec. Coordinator.
  • Is responsible for assisting residence staff in crisis situations.
  • Assists the Program Director as directed.
