About The Position

Wilkes University invites applicants for a Residence Hall Director in the Office of Residence Life. This full-time, live-in position supports the residential campus community by fostering student engagement, overseeing residential operations, and providing support and guidance to students living in University housing. The successful candidate is responsible for supporting approximately 300–400 residential students and supervising approximately 15 Resident Assistants within their assigned residential area. Wilkes University is an independent, comprehensive university dedicated to academic excellence in the liberal arts, sciences, and selected professional programs. The University has approximately 2,000 students at the undergraduate level and over 1,500 full time equivalent students at the graduate and first professional levels. Responsibilities

  • Supporting approximately 300–400 residential students
  • Supervising approximately 15 Resident Assistants within their assigned residential area
  • Overseeing residential education programming
  • Enforcing University policies
  • Assisting with facilities management
  • Conducting student follow-ups and referrals
  • Participating in the Residence Life on-call rotation
  • Supporting ongoing departmental initiatives
  • Assisting with Resident Assistant training and in-services
  • Coordinating break housing
  • Monitoring residence life communications
  • Supporting non-traditional student residency groups
  • Assisting with New Student Orientation
  • Serving as a hearing officer for student conduct matters
  • Supporting Student Government initiatives
