About The Position

Whitecap Resources seeks an Intermediate-Senior Reservoir Engineering Technologist to become a fully integrated member of the reservoir engineering group supporting Whitecap’s Saskatchewan assets. This position will be responsible for providing subsurface regulatory application support and assisting in reservoir engineering for numerous pools in Saskatchewan.

Requirements

• 5-15 years of experience in oil and gas
• Ideal candidate will have Petroleum CET diploma or directly applicable experience to the role as described.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and ability to prioritize their own work
• Excellent communicator
• Knowledge of basic reservoir engineering, and specifically waterflood concepts, would be an asset
• Data analytics experience would be an asset (Tableau/Spotfire)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the preparation of subsurface applications such as spacing applications, EOR applications, etc
• Submit and track application progress with approval followup with the teams
• Be the point person for communications with the MER (Ministry of Energy and Resources)
• Foster relationships with staff at the MER
• Monitor the Whitecap pressure database email inbox and upload all SK pressures
• Ensure subsurface regulatory compliance; monitor and track annual testing requirements, work with teams to ensure all requirements are completed on time.
• Track monthly ARPs and work with team on production applications as required
• Monitor, evaluate and communicate relevant changes to subsurface regulations to the Team
• Coordinate the collection and databasing of relevant pool/well pressure data
• Support the reservoir engineering team with surveillance of EOR assets
• Support the reservoir engineering team with data gathering and production analysis on various pools.
• Support the reservoir engineering team as directed by Manager, Reservoir Engineering
