About The Position

At St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, we provide world-class facilities, state-of-the-art technologies, and extraordinary support for your research. This is an exciting opportunity for a Researcher to join our Center for Advanced Genome Engineering (CAGE). The CAGE has three missions: Facilitate investigator-initiated genome editing projects using CRISPR-Cas9. Perform independent R&D to evaluate and develop new genome editing techniques. Assist the gene and cell therapy programs at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The CAGE offers a strong team-based environment where you will work collaboratively with other investigators across the institution to support their research needs and develop and improve genome engineering technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required
  • No experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques
  • Familiarity with CRISPR-Cas9 technology (training provided)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with cell culture is a plus
  • Interest in learning new technologies

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and implementing genome editing strategies
  • Perform molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, and DNA/RNA extraction
  • Maintain and culture cell lines
  • Collect and analyze experimental data
