About The Position

Parnall Law Firm is the most highly reviewed and largest personal injury firm in New Mexico, dedicated to client service and results. We are seeking a Research & Writing Attorney to join our team. This role focuses on delivering the legal research and writing that powers our attorneys’ advocacy for injured clients and maximizes case outcomes. You will be a key member of a team dedicated to making a meaningful impact for injured clients across New Mexico.

Requirements

Active license to practice law in New Mexico, or eligibility for admission.
Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills, with the ability to translate research into persuasive, well-supported drafts.
Experience drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
Ability to work collaboratively with trial attorneys and Team Leads across multiple case teams and manage competing deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Personal injury or civil litigation experience preferred
Insurance defense or appellate background is a plus.

Responsibilities

Research New Mexico and applicable law on liability, damages, coverage, and procedural issues arising in personal injury and premises liability matters.
Monitor and summarize developments in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court rules relevant to the firm’s practice.
Prepare motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda in support of pre-litigation and litigation case teams.
Draft discovery-related legal analysis and assist with pleadings as needed.
Collaborate with trial attorneys and Team Leads to identify legal issues, anticipate defense arguments, and strengthen case positions.
Provide research support for settlement negotiations, mediation, and trial preparation.
Deliver timely, well-supported written work product that meets firm quality standards.
Collaborate effectively with attorneys and staff to ensure cases move efficiently through the process.
