About The Position

The Whiting School of Engineering's Materials Science & Engineering Department is seeking a Research Technologist to perform laboratory tasks and complete routine assays following common or established protocols and procedures. This role involves using basic science knowledge to learn techniques and methods of the lab, gaining problem-solving skills through progressive training, and understanding the research. The technologist will run lab tests, complete measurements, identify and resolve common problems in routine assays, and increase their skill base and knowledge of lab research and relevant assays. They will also train users in standard equipment operation and routine lab techniques and procedures, set up experiments based on defined standards, collect project data, and perform related laboratory maintenance, including monitoring inventory of supplies and cleaning equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities
