We are seeking a Research Technologist in the Siliciano Laboratory, Division of Infectious Diseases, in the Department of Medicine. The Siliciano Laboratory studies the mechanism of persistence in HIV-1 infection. In this position, the individual will primarily assist in developing and evaluating new methods for detecting and quantifying latent HIV in infected donors. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to develop advanced skills in molecular virology and translational research. It is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing graduate or medical school after one to three years in the laboratory. Opportunities to present results at scientific meetings or in research publications may be available. The successful applicant must be willing to work with blood samples from HIV-infected donors. Extensive training on safe handling practices will be provided.
