About The Position

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a full-time Research Technologist at 30 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work with cell culture, mouse cancer models, and a variety of molecular biology techniques. The position offers hands-on training experience with cutting-edge methodologies, including whole-genome CRISPR/Cas9 screening, murine and patient-derived xenograft leukemia models, RNA-seq, ChlP-seq, ATAC-seq, HiC genome organization analysis, single-cell sequencing, and other standard molecular and biochemical techniques. This position is funded for 1 year(s); continuation past 1 year(s) will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding. This is a 75% full-time equivalency (FTE) job, working 30 hours per week. The salary grade and range listed in the posting is reflective of a 100% Full-time position. Full-time equivalency job offers may fall outside of the listed range due to the assigned percentage of effort.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience (if filled as Research Technologist - Animal Sciences - Advanced Professional)
  • 1+ years of relevant experience (if filled as Research Technologist - Animal Sciences - Intermediate Professional)
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Required Certifications: None
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of prior research experience in a cancer research lab
