This position offers a great opportunity to participate in very exciting research on neural development and neurodegeneration, which will lead to publications in the near future. Responsibilities include performing research independently and participating day-to-day laboratory management; managing mouse colonies; ordering lab supplies, and writing animal protocols; analyzing and troubleshooting protocols and data obtained from individual experiments and recommending alternatives and suggestions to improve processes, validity and/or accuracy; preparing figures for publications and presentations; other job functions as assigned. Previous lab experience in molecular biology (DNA, RNA, PCR and Western) and managing mouse colonies and associated genotyping is required, preliminary R programing skill is preferred. We offer great opportunities to learn new techniques in next generation sequencing, stem cell biology, and mitochondrial metabolism.
