About The Position
The Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Technologist 1 to join their team. The Research Technologist 1 engages in projects that help tease apart which biomarkers are specific to clinical diagnosis, particularly early-stage diagnoses. This is accomplished by processing human blood samples and testing for protein biomarkers in blood, plasma, and other biofluids. Additionally, this position works with research coordinators and technicians to establish and maintain standard operating procedures, track sample collection, and process, store, and analyze samples. This is a full-time day shift position located at Harborview Medical Center. The specific work schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager.
Requirements
- Two years’ experience as a Laboratory Technician 2, or equivalent; OR a bachelor’s degree in biology or an appropriate field of science or technology.
Responsibilities
- Blood processing
- Tracking sample processing and storage
- Fluid biomarker testing
- Biomarker data tracking and analyses
- Meetings with the research team including presentation of data
