About The Position

The Roth lab in Pediatric Hematology / Oncology is recruiting a Research Technician to join their team. Their research focuses on understanding the immune landscape surrounding B-cell lymphoma and Hodgkin lymphoma and identifying novel targets for immune therapies. The Research Technician will join an established team of technicians, graduate students, clinicians, and post-doctoral fellows to perform basic and translational research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
  • One year of experience.
  • Advanced (beyond basic lab training) will be accepted in lieu of experience as assessed by the hiring Principal Investigator.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with basic laboratory techniques (Western blotting, PCR, cell culture, flow cytometry).
  • Experience with in vivo work and murine models.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high throughput transcriptomic and proteomic analysis to identify novel targets for lymphoma therapies.
  • Conduct T cell culture and co-culture with functional and descriptive assays.
  • Perform in vitro drug treatment experiments.
  • Harvest and prepare samples for downstream analyses.
  • Conduct murine xenograft studies to evaluate new agents for the treatment of lymphoma.
  • Utilize wet laboratory techniques including PCR, RT-PCR, Western blotting, cell culture, and flow cytometry.
  • Perform mouse work including generating xenografts, administering biologics, and toxicity analysis.
  • Conduct flow cytometry and RNA-sequencing.
  • Cooperate, communicate, and relate well to all levels of the Medical Center.
  • Listen carefully to others in order to respond appropriately, answer questions or obtain needed information.
  • Communicate ideas, problems, suggestions, and messages in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all research information.
  • Recognize problems as they occur and determine or recommend appropriate solutions through policy/procedure.
  • Seek guidance as necessary for the performance of duties, ask appropriate questions when in doubt, and utilize reference sources/materials to ensure accuracy.
  • Advise appropriate personnel of situations/problems requiring intervention or follow-up attention.
