About The Position

The Jingxin Wang’s lab within the Section of Genetic Medicine, Department of Medicine, an NIH-funded laboratory focused on RNA-targeting early drug discovery for undruggable targets, is seeking a full-time Research Technician.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Relevant research experience.
  • Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office).
  • Knowledge of research techniques and methods.
  • Ability to work with little direct oversight.
  • Ability to work within a larger research team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Biochemistry lab skills (e.g., buffer preparation, pipetting, PCR).
  • Organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine RNA-seq library preparation on a biweekly basis.
  • Maintain multiple mammalian and cell culture lines.
  • Manage lab inventory and instrumentation.
  • Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
  • Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens.
  • Conducts literature reviews.
  • Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
