The Research Technician will assist with data collection for a research project investigating how native seed-dispersing animals (e.g., California Scrub-jays) can support post-fire oak woodland restoration in southern California. Job duties include (1) capturing, banding, and measuring wild jays using baited drop traps, (2) resighting and making behavioral observations of color-banded birds, (3) assisting setup and data collection for seed provisioning experiments, (4) data entry and similar routine tasks. The project is primarily based on The Nature Conservancy’s Dangermond Preserve along the coast of southern California. The Department of Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology within the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a detail-oriented research technician to join our team.
