About The Position

The Research Technician, Implant Team will perform survival surgical procedures on mice, including handling, restraint, anesthesia, surgical heterotopic and orthotopic tumor fragment and tumor cell implantations, euthanasia, tissue collection, and tissue cryopreservation. This role involves recording study data within the laboratory information management system, reading and understanding study protocols, and performing general study preparation and organizational activities such as sample tube labeling, supply organization and stocking, and laboratory organization. The position requires working weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. Productivity expectations include performing 150 unilateral NUDE PS/day, 60 bilateral NOG warm stock/day, and 60 bilateral NOG cryo stock/day, to be attained within 3 months of training completion.

Requirements

  • BS degree in animal science, biology, pharmacology, or related field
  • AALAS certification
  • 2 years of related experience in contract research animal facility or similar setting
