About The Position

The Department of Astronomy within the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University seeks a Research Technician 1 to refactor the stellar radiative transfer code Korg from Julia to Python and to add additional capabilities, such as the ability to handle isotopes, to Korg. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest college and the academic heart of the university. The College hosts 81 majors.   • Experience coding in Python

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree and/or Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy or related field highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Refactor the stellar radiative transfer code Korg from Julia to Python.
  • Add additional capabilities to Korg, such as the ability to handle isotopes.
