About The Position

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Research Technician position. The RFMH Inc at NYSPI / CU Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time research technician (RT) who will join a team of researchers conducting NIH-funded clinical and epidemiological research. The RT will assist in all aspects of study design, execution and analysis of both large-scale survey and clinical datasets. The RT will also assist in preparation of materials for presentations, reports, proposals, publications, as well as, with grant and IRB related tasks. Additionally, the RT will work closely with the PI and senior staff to assist them in various tasks that they need to accomplish. The RT should pay strong attention to detail and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree with a major in public health (epidemiology), psychology, neuroscience or data science.
  • At least (1.5) years of experience in a research setting

Nice To Haves

  • A master's degree with a major in public health (epidemiology), psychology, neuroscience or data science.
  • Prior experience with computer programming, especially in RedCap
  • Prior experience using SAS or R statistical analysis programming software
  • Prior experience using Zotero reference manager
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating with a team

Responsibilities

  • Conducting literature reviews and assisting in preparation and tracking of grant proposals, IRB related submissions, publications, reports, and presentations, as needed.
  • Formatting and creating references for the above tasks using a reference manager, Zotero, for manuscript submissions.
  • Programming, piloting and debugging computerized diagnostic interviews and questionnaires in RedCap, Qualtrics and Blaise
  • Creating and managing computerized codebooks
  • Data management, cleaning and analysis
  • Creating, updating, and following up on agenda items for weekly staff meetings
  • Assisting PI with tracking and executing action items, including updating CV, assisting with Powerpoint presentations, manuscript submissions, etc.
