About The Position

Perform a variety of complex technical duties involved in conducting laboratory tests, experiments and determinations in support of Duke University research operations. We seek a gap-year or post-baccalaureate computational scientist with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computational biology, or a related field. The position involves applying and developing computational pipelines for immune-cell analysis (e.g., high-dimensional single-cell datasets) to generate immune maps of ophthalmic disease. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work at the interface of computational analysis, experimental biology, and clinical research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computational biology, or a related field.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work at the interface of computational analysis, experimental biology, and clinical research.
  • Bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.
  • None required above education/training requirement.
