About The Position

Duke University’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has an immediate need for an on site Research Technician II in Dr. Liping Feng’s lab (part – time summer position through August 2026 only).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.
  • None required above education/training requirement.
  • OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities

  • Assist with animal husbandry, handling, monitoring, and experimental procedures for PFBS exposure studies in accordance with approved IACUC protocols.
  • Support dosing, sample collection, necropsy, and tissue processing for reproductive and developmental toxicology experiments.
  • Coordinate and assist with imaging experiments conducted in collaboration with the Yao laboratory, including animal preparation and scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate experimental records, animal logs, and data documentation to ensure research compliance and reproducibility.
  • Prepare laboratory materials, reagents, and equipment needed for animal and imaging studies.
  • Assist with data organization, preliminary analysis, and preparation of research summaries for laboratory meetings and project reporting.
  • Ensure proper laboratory safety practices, animal welfare compliance, and maintenance of research workspaces.
  • Collaborate with laboratory personnel, graduate students, and research staff to support timely completion of project milestones and ongoing funded research activities.
