About The Position

Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary Position will be working within the Pathology Micro-Injection Core facility, participating in the production of mouse models, cryopreservation, reconstitution of frozen samples, and embryo rederivation along with colony management. Position performs or assists with all technical aspects of the various services offered by the facility and learns new techniques as they are optimized and integrated into the service repertoire.

Nice To Haves

  • Up to one year of experience in a laboratory setting or working with mice.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and setup and maintenance of equipment involved in creating mouse models.
  • Performs data entry and maintains data files on research, sample quality control and billing.
  • Prepares tissue cultures, reagents, performs various cryopreservation techniques and mouse in-vitro fertilization and gene editing techniques.
  • Assists with routine mouse colony maintenance and management, monitoring, record keeping, logging samples for genotype analysis and performing small animal procedures.
  • Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
  • Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
