The Farris Lab within the Arthritis & Clinical Immunology Research Program at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is seeking a Research Technician I. This role is responsible for assisting with laboratory organization, parotid saliva collection from research volunteers, and performing research experiments and procedures according to standardized protocols. The technician may also be trained in research mouse husbandry. The position requires the ability to complete tasks after receiving instructions for each assignment. The technician will collect and present data to the Principal Investigator and laboratory team members, and support the team to achieve goals. Expected duties after appropriate training include human blood processing, isolation of PBMC, magnetic enrichment of selected human blood cell populations, collection of human parotid saliva samples, preparation and labeling of samples for spectral flow cytometry, reporting results (including data summaries and basic statistical analyses), and contribution to general laboratory maintenance, ordering, and inventory. Mouse colony maintenance is also a responsibility.
