About The Position

The Research Technician will support ongoing research focused on immunology and cancer biology, working closely with lab members to execute experiments and maintain critical lab operations. This role offers exposure to a wide range of techniques and the opportunity to contribute to impactful research in a fast-paced academic environment. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, collaborative, and motivated to contribute to advancing cancer immunotherapy research. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals planning to pursue medical school or graduate studies who are looking to gain hands-on research experience in an academic lab environment. We are ideally seeking candidates who can commit to 2–3 years, with a preference for a 3-year commitment, to ensure continuity and meaningful contribution to ongoing research projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field required
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a research laboratory
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Willingness to learn complex techniques with general instruction
  • Demonstrated initiative and commitment to continuous learning
  • Interest in immunology, cancer biology, or related research areas

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with animal models preferred
  • Commitment to 2–3 years, with a preference for a 3-year commitment

Responsibilities

  • Perform general mouse husbandry, including genotyping, embryo preservation, rederivation, tissue sectioning, and transcardial perfusion.
  • Manage complex mouse colonies, including maintaining census, ordering, and coordinating with collaborators.
  • Support lab members with experiments using immunological and molecular biology techniques (imaging, flow cytometry, library prepation, PCR, cloning, etc.).
  • Analyze and organize research data.
  • Participate in lab meetings and review scientific literature.
  • Assist with lab organization and general operational support.
