This role involves performing experiments and day-to-day laboratory tasks under supervision, focusing on a translational research project investigating the immune system's role in prostate cancer and neuro-cognition. The successful applicant will explore the effects of the hormonal environment on neuronal function. General basic research experience with DNA, RNA, protein analysis, tissue culture, immunohistochemistry, and histology is required. Knowledge of nervous system structure and function is valuable. Strong communication, organizational, record-keeping, and computer literacy skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and in a team. The institute offers excellent facilities in a stimulating, multi-disciplinary environment. Other responsibilities include ordering supplies, maintaining the laboratory notebook, preparing data presentation and analysis, laboratory cleaning and organization, and assisting with manuscript and grant application submissions.
