About The Position

This is a grant-funded position, funded until September 30, 2028. The Research Technician 2 will conduct research for the grant, which involves mouse husbandry, exposing mice to alcohol, behavior testing, measuring blood ethanol concentrations, tissue collection, expression analysis, tissue sectioning, and statistical analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
  • OR a combination of college coursework and work experience to equal four (4) years.
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform mouse husbandry.
  • Skill handling mice.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the maintenance of the animal colony.
  • Assists in administering ethanol to animals.
  • Assists in tissue collection.
  • Performs mouse husbandry and exposes mice to alcohol.
  • Performs behavior testing on mice.
  • Performs tissue collection, expression analysis, tissue sectioning, and statistical analyses.
  • Performs expression analyses using ELISA or immunohistochemistry.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
