About The Position

The Department of Pathology is seeking applicants for part-time Research Support. This position will execute research experiments, assist in laboratory operations and compliance requirements, maintain equipment and inventory, and handle administrative responsibilities related to research activities. Routine support tasks include data entry, and laboratory preparation such as cleaning and sterilizing equipment, stocking supplies, inventory tracking, proper waste disposal (biohazard, chemical), and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements

• A minimum one year of undergraduate schooling in an accredited science degree program
• One year experience in a research lab environment
• The ability to be able to do the following, pipetting (manual and electronic), measuring and preparing solutions (dilutions, buffers), use of common lab equipment (centrifuges, balances, microscopes, spectrophotometers), sample handling and labeling and following standard operating procedures.
• Basic understanding of biology, chemistry, or related field
