About The Position
The College of Medicine, Department of Molecular and Precision Medicine, Mills lab is seeking applicants for a part-time Research Support position. This role will involve conducting studies focused on the recruitment of stem cells in tumorigenesis, including investigating signaling mechanisms involved in cell state changes in programs like paligenosis. Responsibilities also include assisting with mouse breeding to maintain colonies for experiments and harvesting/preparing tissue for various analyses.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in molecular or cell biology, or related field
- 8-10 years laboratory experience working in cell biology research
- Record of experience presenting and publishing scientific findings
- At least 2 years of experience working with mouse colonies for research, including handling, propagation, and maintenance
Responsibilities
- Conduct studies focused on recruitment of stem cells in tumorigenesis, including investigating the signaling mechanisms that are involved in how cells change state in programs such as paligenosis
- Assist with mouse breeding to sustain colonies for these experiments
- Harvest and prepare tissue for mRNA, protein, and histological analyses
