About The Position

The Pathology Core Reference Lab (PCRL) in the Dept. of Pathology at Penn State University – College of Medicine (COM) is seeking a dynamic part-time research technologist. The PCRL provides research support throughout the COM as a research core facility and performs automated immunoassay (free light chain immunoglobulins, IL-6) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry LC-MS/MS (toxicology and steroid hormones) analysis for the hospital clinical laboratory. The PCRL also has several funded industry-sponsored clinical laboratory research grants.

Requirements

• BS, MS, MT, MLT, PhD or other doctoral degree.
• Meticulous record keeping.
• Accurate pipetting.
• Inquisitive nature.
• Strong organization.
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Proven record of success working in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior clinical laboratory experience.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements from CLIA, CAP and the FDA.
