Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a health-related field.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or a clinical research coordinator certification.
  • Working knowledge in research methodology and federal regulations applicable to clinical trials preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ experience working in research preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establishing individual and team goals for the research team, and mentoring and guiding team members to help achieve set goals.
  • Building and fostering a positive team environment and promoting a positive work culture and experience within the research department.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing research team members for continued growth and success, including providing formal and informal feedback on performance.
  • Communicating with sponsors regarding team training and team start needs for new studies.
  • Ensuring timely completion and submission of IRB start, continued review, close-out submissions, and any sponsor requests.
  • Assisting in monitoring visits with sponsor staff (e.g., queries, source document reconciliation, preparing regulatory documents, answering questions).
  • Supervising and working with study leads to ensure subject recruitment commitments to sponsors are being fulfilled.
  • Helping the team to maintain study regulatory file and test article accountability per internal standards.
  • Completing protocol meetings with the research team to ensure study understanding prior to enrollment, and conducting meetings with the research team and supporting doctors to discuss enrollment, study plans, and training.
