About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Research Study Technician to join their team in Madison, WI. This role involves researching the effectiveness, safety, and toxicity of drugs in early development animal research studies. The technician will be responsible for handling animals, performing dosing techniques, administering test items, collecting biological samples, performing clinical observations, and collecting/reviewing data in accordance with GLP regulations and SOPs. The position also requires organizing study-related activities and data, and maintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline (Biology, Wildlife, Pre-veterinary, Zoology, Animal Science, or related Life Science disciplines).
Commitment to animal welfare, safety, and ethical care standards.
Reliable adherence to protocols, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Exceptional customer service.
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
Willingness to learn and adapt, including new equipment, procedures, or compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

6 months or more of direct animal care experience in a research lab or farming operation (large or small animals).
AALAS Certification

Responsibilities

Handling and restraining animals.
May provide husbandry duties to small and large animals.
Perform various dosing techniques with small and large animals.
Administering test items.
Collecting biological samples.
Performing clinical observations.
Collecting and reviewing data in accordance with the Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLP) and standard operating procedures.
Organizing study related activities and data.
Maintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare in accordance with the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
