About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Research Study Technician to join our Animal Operation team in Madison, WI! Work Schedule : Second Shift: Employees will work either an 8- or 10-hour shift between 10:00 a.m-8:00PM CST Training Schedule: Training will be conducted on first shift (6:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.) for approximately the first six weeks . After training is completed, employees will transition to the second‑shift schedule. Job Responsibilities: As a Research Study Technician, you’ll apply your scientific curiosity in researching the effectiveness, safety and toxicity of drugs in early development animal research studies. Maintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare in accordance with the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC). Handling and restraining animals Administering test items Collecting biological samples Performing clinical observations Collecting and reviewing data in accordance with the Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLP) and standard operating procedures Organizing study related activities and data Working in a fast paced, team environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline (Biology, Wildlife, Pre-veterinary, Zoology, Genetics, Environmental Biology, Animal Science, or related Life Science disciplines) OR Associate degree in Laboratory Animal Technology or Veterinary Technology plus 1 or more years of experience in animal handling, husbandry, clinical support, laboratory animal care, or assisting veterinary staff.

  • Reliable adherence to protocols, SOPs, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Exceptional customer service.
  • Strong communication skills: both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt, including new equipment, procedures, or compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months or more of direct animal care experience in a research lab or farming operation (large or small animals).
  • 6 months or more of experience using standard laboratory equipment such as scales, measures, pipetting.
  • AALAS Certification
