About The Position

The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch, employing nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks. The Office of Information & Technology Services, Division of Research and Statistics has an opening for a Research and Statistics Data Analyst in Franklin County. This role involves creating statistical reports and data compilations using tools such as Tableau and SQL, producing both external reports and internal content like interactive dashboards. The Data Analyst will collaborate with the Research & Statistics Teams to ensure accuracy, usefulness, and compliance with standard formats and procedures.

Requirements

  • 4 Year College Degree. Major in statistics, public administration, business, social science, or related field.
  • Government or public-sector experience.
  • Data analysis, statistics, and/or research experience.
  • 3 Years of experience in data analysis, statistics, and/or research.
  • Solid understanding of the fundamentals of relational data, data visualization, statistical analysis, and coding.
  • Advanced problem-solving, logic, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts and to master new software or programming environments quickly.
  • Ability to present complex ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including instructional, facilitation, and presentation skills appropriate for communication with elected officials.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on coaching/motivational skills, enthusiasm, and positive attitude.
  • Advanced time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Tableau, SQL, and other software for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data compilations and queries, present data effectively in tables and visualizations, and write clear and informative documentation of reports and compilations.
  • Collaborate with the unit’s staff to document, review, and enhance tools, definitions, and procedures to continuously improve the AOC’s statistical reporting process.
  • Assist with request tracking, updates, and completion using the reporting tool of choice.
  • Collaborate with team members to document and maintain all standard operating procedures.
  • Comply established with data standards, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Work closely with members of other departments to facilitate development/completion of statistical requests.
  • Ensure skills are maintained through training opportunities as available/assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
